Actor, writer, and private coach, Ashley is extremely proud and incredibly blessed to be a part of this production. A 2012 Fellow at THE FIELD, Ashley has been a Company Member to both Horse Trade Theatre Group and The Flea Theatre. She is also the founder and creator of ASB Private Coaching for Actors. Christopher Burris

Christopher Burris’ New York directing credits include Kevin R. Free's A RAISIN IN THE SALAD: BLACK PLAYS FOR WHITE PEOPLE, which was a FringeNYC 2010 hit. He also directed Dennis A. Allen IIIís THE MUD IS THICKER IN MISSISSIPPI, a winner in the 2010 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival. He has directed several short plays for Sticky at the Bowery Poetry Club, including FALLING OUT WITH GREGARIAN TUNKS, A SHADOW WITH NO FORM, LIFEíS TERMS, ...IN WHICH BISHOP EDDIE LONG LOSES HIS BATTLE WITH THE DEMONS, and GAGA OF THE DEAD. In addition to a series of staged readings for Freedom Train Productions, (including Derek McPhatter's BRING THE BEAT BACK) he has directed numerous projects for Phare Play, Unconscious Collective, and The Fire This Time Festival (EXODUS, BY THE BANKS OF THE NILE). Keith Beauchamp

Keith A. Beauchamp is an award-winning independent filmmaker and activist who received widespread acclaim for his Emmy-nominated documentary “The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till” and his extensive work in reopening the Emmett Till Case. As founder of the Brooklyn-based film production company Till Freedom Come Productions, Beauchamp is currently the Executive Producer and host of Investigation Discovery’s television series, “The Injustice Files.” Mr. Beauchamp also assists the FBI with their Civil Rights “Cold Case” Initiative, solving murders that took place during the Civil Rights Era.

Kelley Nicole Girod

Kelley Nicole Girod is a 2008 graduate of Columbia's MFA playwriting program where she was named the Stein and Liberace scholar as well as the John Golden fellow for her artistic merit. Kelley hails from Louisiana where she attended Louisiana State University and works extensively with the artistic community of Baton Rouge, most recently serving as a panel judge for Louisiana's artist in residency program. She has had plays produced in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, and Columbus, Ohio and has had readings at Primary Stages, the Labyrinth Studio, and Horse Trade Theater where she founded and has served as Executive Producer of The Fire This Time Festival which is going into its fourth year of programming (www.firethistimefestival.com). She was awarded "Person of the Year 2011" by nytheatre.com for her work on The Fire This Time. Shamsuddin Abdul-Hamid

Shamsuddin "Sham" Abdul-Hamid is an actor and writer hailing from Newark, NJ. Sham studies Acting at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He is the NJ Poetry Out Loud State Champion and was awarded The Star-Ledger Scholarship for the Performing Arts. Shamsuddin's short plays have been produced by The Theater Project, Young Playwrights, Inc. founded by Stephen Sondheim and in the YouthInk! Playwriting Festival at the McCarter Theatre. This past year the Playwright’s Theatre honored him for his work in NJ Arts. Sham has performed with The Rutgers Theatre Company, Luna Stage and the Manhattan Theatre Club. Thais Francis

Thais is a 2012 graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she received her BFA in Drama. She is an actor/dancer/singer and instrumentalist. Her writings have been featured at various conferences, symposiums and university’s nationwide including The Prindle Institute for Ethics at Depauw University and the Congressional Black Caucus. She has been honored by the Root Magazine as one of the 25 under 25 Top Innovators for 2011. As an actress, dancer and singer she has performed at Radio City Music Hall, the National Black Theater Festival, the Historic Warner Theater and has toured internationally with the play “Da Kink in my Hair”. She is at the beginning of her journey, and quite excited to see what the future holds.
