Jane is first introduced to pornography at ayoung age when she finds a dirty novel in her parent’s house. She regards thisold paperback as the single most important piece of literature in her life. In DIRTYLITTLE MACHINE, Jane decides to seek out the most degenerate,repulsive, douchebag she can find and date him- in order that she may eitherfulfill her deep-seated sexual fantasies OR renounce all disempowering desiresand become a true feminist. DIRTY LITTLEMACHINE is an investigation of sexual relationships and intimacy in anincreasingly voyeuristic culture.

MIRANDA HUBA (Playwright) is an award-winning playwright originally from Canada, now based in New York City. She is a founding member of Tiger Milk Collective. Plays include: The History Of My Domestication (commissioned by Playwrights Theatre Centre, Vancouver and also produced at NYC's The Red Room), Hospital City(Video-In Studios, Vancouver and staged reading at Stage Left Studio, NYC), and The Tour (Vancouver and Victoria Fringe Festivals). Recently her play, House of KOSA, received its world premiere in Canada as part of Vancouver's acclaimed SEE SEVEN new theatre series. Her latest play Grounded: A Play in Six Airports is being promoted in Germany as part of the publication New Canadian Drama- a partnership between the Canadian Department of Canadian Heritage and the Theatre Institute in Berlin. She is represented by the PER H. LAUKE VERLAG Agency in Germany. Most recently she was invited to Vancouver to co-create the site- specific theatre piece You Are Invited with HIVE 3 and the Cultural Olympiad. In June 2010 she performed her latest one-woman show Candy Tastes Nice at HERE in NYC as part of their Summer Sublet Series. She holds a BFA from the SFU School for the Contemporary Arts.

NATHAN SCHWARTZ (Director) is an actor, director and theatre creator who has recently returned to New York City from Canada. He has specialized in new play creation and is dedicated to infusing physical theatre techniques, and honest connection with the audience into contemporary theatre practice. He most recently directed and co-created ***[tenderpits]*** (AnimalParts Theatre NYC), RAGNAROK OUT! With Suburban Beast for Nuit Blanche 2009 at The Theatre Centre (Toronto)as well as the HATCH 2009 hit, IT TAKES TWO MEN TO MAKE A BROTHER, an exploration of male fraternity culture, at the Harbour front Centre (Toronto). Other directing credits: ART'S HEART at FringeNYC 2009 (awarded OUTSTANDING SOLOSHOW), and The Garage Theatre's SoloFest 2010 (Teaneck, NJ), BASSBUGS (Walking Fish Festival, Vancouver). Nathan won 'Best Director' award two years running for Ottawa's Youth Infringement Festival. Nathan wrot eand performed AND NOW A MESSAGE FROM MR.MR. (Toronto Festival of Clowns 2009), and MESSIAHAYELAND (2005 Chutzpah Festival, Vancouver). Some of Nathan's acting credits include: HEBRON (Habima, Tel-Aviv), BETTER LIVING (GCTC, Ottawa), THE DARLING FAMILY (Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Vancouver), THE LEAGUE OF NATHANS (Touchstone, Vancouver), and10GREEN BOTTLES (Irving Greenberg Theatre, Toronto). He won the Jessie Richardson Award for 'Best Artistic Achievement' with the cast of THE BIGLEAGUE (Carousel Theatre, Vancouver). He has studied recently with Canadian clown and bouffon luminaries Karen Hines and Adam Lazarus. Nathan is also a graduate of Studio 58 Theatre School.

The dynamic of the play is to read against our default perception that women are victims and men are predators, and so it is stuffed full of easy ironies, ambiguous innuendos, and the pleasant cognitive dissonance dirty kink adds to our sexual fantasies.
