Ben Rimalower

produced and directed the critically acclaimed New York premiere of John Fisher's Joy Off-Broadway at the Actors' Playhouse and Off-Off Broadway at The Producers' Club. Other recent directing credits include the benefit concert of Snoopy! (Symphony Space starring Sutton Foster), Lance Home's How Love Goes (Joe's Pub/Dominion/Fire Island Pines), Mike Shapiro's The Alleged Adventures Of Blenderman (Ten Minute Musicals Competition Finalist) and Yuval Sharon's Infinity Breathes. He also produced and directed the 2003 and 2004 SHINE Awards at Hollywood's House of Blues (with Kelsey Grammar, Mariska Hargitay and Laura Innes) and the Cover-The-Uninsured-Week Unity Concert (with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Julia Murney.) Lately, Ben has been busy directing a series of readings of new plays he's developing including Stan Richardson's wHormone (Second Stage with Judy Blazer and Alma Cuervo), Alex Wexler's The Devil And Dexter Webster (York Theatre with John Tartaglia), ...Half Dozen Of Another (with Julie Garnye, Natalie Joy Johnson, Poppi Kramer, Leslie Kritzer, Stephanie Kurtzuba and Sheri Sanders) and William Zeffiro's The Road To Ruin (with Ann Morrison.) Upcoming projects include Michael Cooper and Hyeoung Kim's Jonathan Larson Award-winning musical Sunfish, Lindsey Alley's Look Ma...No Ears! and Natalie Joy Johnson's solo cabaret debut. In California, Ben has directed productions of Jeffrey, Cabaret, Death, Into The Woods, Chess, Ruthless!, Falsettos and Eleemosynary. Assistant Director credits include Lonny Price's productions of A Class Act (Manhattan Theatre Club, Broadway and Tokyo) and A Little Night Music (starring Patti LuPone, George Hearn and Zoe Caldwell) as well as the Emmy-winning Sweeney Todd. Ben studied Dramatic Art at U.C. Berkeley where he was the founding Artistic Director of BareStage (now celebrating its 10th anniversary.)
