Welcome to Lantanahootchie, Mississippi--a gothic Southern town where Tennessee Williams meet The Twilight Zone.

"Come Back to the 7-Eleven, Elvis Presley, Elvis Presley" is a modern ghost story that satirizes the clichŽs and stereotypes of southern drama by serving up a healthy portion of humor, intrigue, spicy southern repartee and a touch of trailer park trash.

Far below the Mason-Dixon line lies the mythical Lantanahootchie, a dying town full of dark secrets and broken dreams, whose only claim to fame is as the home of the only living son of Elvis Presley--at least according to Thelma Jean Watkins, proprietor of the local 7-Eleven and supposed mother to the King's progeny. The townâs only source of income are "tourist attractions" that exploit the King's legacy, much to the chagrin of Elvis Jr., an introverted, dark-haired teenaged boy whose high cheekbones and bedroom eyes resemble the King's. When a dark stranger (possibly a ghost) rides into town driving a 1958 Corvette, he threatens to destroy Lantanahootchie's fragile illusion of bucolic tranquility by exposing the tragic events of the past and the inevitability of the future.

"compelling..rewarding..A gripping and well-made drama, staged with sensitivity and intelligence."---NYTheatre.com, from a Dec. 2001 review of Real Live Sex on Stage

PAUL WELLS (Playwright/Director and Artistic Director) has written over 30 plays. Most recently, Wellsâ "Real Live Sex on Stage" was produced in December 2001 at The St. Marks Theater. In 2001, he directed a staged reading of Armistice Day by Mark Dunn for New Jersey Rep. and performed in his own play, Vampire Stewardesses From Hell. Since founding The Dysfunctional Theatre Co., he has written and directed Alien Sex Cult Clones Madonna!, Princess Di's Brain Kept Alive in Graceland!, Il Duce: The Rudy Giuliani Story, and Mister Rogersâ Y2K.

The Dysfunctional Theatre Co. functions like a well-oiled machine. ---Stage Press Weekly
