UNDER St. Marks has been an experimental theatre space since the 1970’s. Located on St. Marks Place between First Avenue and Avenue A, this basement theatre is popular to a wide variety of Theatre artists. One side wall of the stage features a sandstone and brick wall, the opposing side is a usable stand-up bar. There is a backstage dressing room with direct access to crossover, stage and restroom. The lighting system includes a carefully designed reparatory plot which allows a great variety of looks, areas and colors. Four Re-Focusable and Re-Gellable instruments add to its versatility. This space is equipped with a sound package that includes: a mixing board with multiple microphone jacks, a dual CD Deck, and stereo sound. Additional amenities include: air conditioning, a projector and screen available for rent and set and prop storage. UNDER St. Marks now has a beer and wine license!!! |
