Press Highlights

Welcome to The Lounge. Back in the 1980s, it played host to the best and the brightest. For a brief moment in time, The Lounge was where the fast-living, the famous and the fabulous went to drink the best champagne, snort the best cocaine and be entertained by the best no-name singers, comedians and dancers you've never heard of; and never will.

Time has changed this legendary lounge--until one night when the old guard and the new blood meet to reclaim their place in the world and spark a whole new era of entertainment. The Lounge features 10 production numbers, which use reorchestrated karaoke tracks to give 80s era songs a new feel and sound. Some numbers are part of the entertainment at The Lounge and others come from deeply personal moments that give a glimpse into the thoughts and feelings of the characters (but exist outside of the narrative reality).

In the center of it all was former lip-synch champion Arby McFay--now the fearless, ambitious Emcee who rules The Lounge and the lives of his cast: a lovesick comedian, a fallen pop idol, assorted social misfits and two life-size roaches who desperately want to be human.

MARC MORALES (Writer/Director)---A founding member of Edge of Insanity, Marcās directorial efforts have drawn on his experience in improv (Los Banditos Chocolates), modern dance (Dance Works), voice and acting. He has directed many Edge productions, including In the Red Room and Galaxy Video. Marc has also been an actor, light and sound designer for Edge of Insanity.

EDGE OF INSANITY, currently a resident member of Horse Trade Theater Group, was founded in June 2000 to foster a community of artists and create original theatrical works. By showcasing the talents of performers, designers, musicians and visual artists, Edge productions flood the senses and provoke the mind by imbuing the stage with light and saturating it with sound.

"authentically fresh and original, The freshest, funniest, most original new comedy I've seen in the theatre in quite a long time."---NYTheatre.com, March 2002 review of Galaxy Video
