The sugar-coated cheery atop the Nouveau Burlesque scene, Sugar Shack Burlesque brings together the hot-blooded honey Lady Satan with the southern sweetie, RunAround Sue. Together these two classy broads have spun a heavenly confection for your enjoyment. Performing in the Sugar Shack are the world-class beauties Dirty Martini (Miss Exotic Word 2004), Jo Boobs (Best Bump'n'Grinder NY Burlesque Fest), Veronika Sweet (Co-Producer Sweet and Nasty Burlesque) and fantastical Magician Albert Cadabra. Miss Exotic Worlds 2004, The International Burlesque Sensation, Miss Dirty Martini, is one of the most recongnized names in new burlesque. In 1997, she traveled to Sarajevo , to perform her show-stopping fan dance to a shell shocked public shortly after the peace accord was signed and the Serbian siege had ended. Since that time, she has declared herself the first fan dancer to perform in post-war Bosnia . In her native Manhattan , Miss Martini has delighted audiences with her Fan Dance, Balloon Striptease, Dance of the Several Veils, Shadow Strip and other classic burlesque revivals in such venues as The Slipper Room, Crobar, Joe's Pub, Avalon and the Knitting Factory. She has been presented in venues as diverse as Carnegie Hall to the infamous gay leather bars The Lure and The Eagle. She is a featured performer at the VaVAVooom Room in its successful run at Fez on Lafayette Street and she proudly performs evvery summer in Coney Island at "Burlesque by the Beach." |
JO BOOBS |
Jo Boobs has enjoyed the privelege of performing at Tease-O-Rama in San Francisco and Los Angeles, The Chamber in Atlanta, and The New York Burlesque Festival (in New York, of course). She's performed at Galapagos Art Space, the Gramercy Park Center for the Performing Arts, the Slipper Room, Burlesque at the Beach (Coney Island Sideshows by the Seashore), The Blue Angel, Le Scandal, Dollhaus, Chashama, The Bowery Poetry Club, and other esteemed venues on and off the burlesque circuit. She has even performed with Spinal Tap! She has also lectured about burlesque and stripping at NYU, The New School, the American Philosophical Association Pacific Division Conference, and other academic venues, have lobbied at the UN, and have published dozens of articles, essays, and poems on the subjects of performative gender and sexual identity. Barely outta bobby socks, she packed up and tried her luck in Tinseltown, where she became B-movie scream queen Lady Satan. This hot blooded honey met her match when she and the devil got hitched. All hell broke loose when that sum' bitch done her wrong..now this dame's out for revenge..she's shakin' ass, raisin hell, and takin souls... |

RunAround Sue began running around long before she was drinking whiskey (and trust me folks that was pretty young). Born out of the Virginia Soil and the West Viriginia Coalmines, she began shaking it at early age while running from the law with her mama. When she was old enough to make it out her own, she hightailed it to the big city where her sense of southern hospitality soothes many a broken heart. Catch her if you can...... VERONIKA SWEET |
Veronika Sweet is the only daughter of famed Las Vegas mobster, Alphonse Sweetini. Veronika ran away to NYC at the tender age of 19 to shed her showgirl image in hopes of striking it rich and marrying a millionaire playboy. Five ex-husbands later and nice big fat divorce settlement, Ms. Sweet decided to go back to her starlet roots and revive her mafia upbringing. Favorite pastimes include: eating red licorce, wearing large sunglasses, spending Dirty Daddy's money (her latest fiance) and co-producing her weekly burlesque show in the East Village called Sweet and Nasty Burlesque.
