The Red Room is an intimate space. In the center of the back stage wall, double doors open to expose a 7 by 8 foot portal. This can be used for quick set changes as well as a hiding space for entire sets which can be revealed and concealed within seconds. The stage is 16 feet deep to the proscenium. But, the proscenium is small, and can be easily overlooked, allowing the stage depth to be extended to 20 feet at the expense of a portion of the seating area. All of Horse Trade's theaters are equipt with a strong sound package including: a mixing board with a mic jack, CD player, dual cassette deck, and 4 speaker stereo sound. There are upstage right and left entrances from the dressing room as well as an easy access from the dressing room to the front door of the theater (located house right). Dance and Movement pieces are not allowed in The Red Room. Horse Trade must be advised of any staging that might involve jumping or other hard jarring movements. Such movements may cause a disruption both downstairs in the bar and upstairs in the office. |
