Can a person reclaim his life after years of indulging in behaviors that have destroyed him?
Set between 3AM & dawn on Ludlow Street in NYCâs East Village, "DRYCLEAN" explores three hours in the life of BRENDON, a heroin addict. His attempts to make a buy from his new dealer FLACO are complicated by his girlfriend ERDE (white-knuckling it in her meager clean time); CINA, an Uptown chick trying to score; and DOLL, a street runaway all while trailed by the specter of DOBERMAN, his dead running buddy. Tense, gritty and intellectually provocative, this realistic view of the drug subculture takes away any glamour from that world and presents a morality play in the most unlikely of circumstances.
"In Bauer's play, death is not tragedy and there
is laughter along the way. Highly recommended."
"Another bizarre and tragic play from Andrew
Bauer."
