The Chamber of Terrors Press Highlights
Playwright
Trav S.D. (House of Trash, American Vaudeville
Theatre) cooks up a Halloween confection in the tradition of Tales From
The Crypt and William Castle in this trilogy of one-act horror satires.
Audience members will be treated to "Disgust-O," a small bell that warns
the audience when the approaching scene may be too vile to bear. A registered
nurse will be on duty at all times in the event that the terror physically
overwhelms the audience members. |
"Inside Out Man" Young Ray is a model student and editor of his school paper -- until transformed by evil scientist Dr. Matt Foster into a large (very large) intestine, who devours those around him with indiscriminate and monstrous relish. Foster uses the Inside Out Man to settle old scores, murdering those who double crossed him, until, of course, the ironic, Henry-style twist. Directed by Michele Schlossberg-Cwiklik. "Der Boogermeister" In an unnamed European-style village, we meet the town executioner, a cruel and heartless tyrant who takes pleasure in engulfing his charges in rivers of human phlegm. As his death toll grows higher, he is repeatedly visited by a mysterious ghost who demands that he mend his ways. Der Boogermeister refuses, until, of course, the ironic, Henry-style twist. Directed by Frank Cwiklik. "Gas Attack" A space probe returns to earth with a sample of "living gas from around Uranus." A battle of wits ensues between an evil government agent (out to use the gas as a weapon), and the space center custodian uses these "farts" (as they are colloquially known) to commit a series of foul-smelling murders. Until, of course, the ironic, Henry-style twist. Directed by Scott Stiffler; starring the sketch troupe Incline Fools. |

Hill, Michele Schlossberg, and Bryan Enk. The inaugural show of the DMTheatrics Noir Series, Quicksand, enjoyed a successful run at The St. Marks Theater in Summer of 2001, and his adaptation of Orson Welles' The Stranger will appear in December of 2001 at The Red Room.
