A’spress

By Adam Purvis
Directed by Akia

How far will someone go to outrun guilt?
How long can the most unlikely of friendships survive in the streets?

This is the story of Jack & Benji, two companions brought together out of tragic circumstances, one with a guilt ridden conscience and dark past, the other with only the present and surviving in his scope.

Featuring the ensemble of Rising Sun Performance Company

Playwright P. William Pinto, Director Akia and the immensely talented ensemble of Rising Sun have spent the last 6 months developing the world premiere production of DeCADEnce. An Original work drawing from our eclectic Americana history, told thru 10 vignettes each representing a decade from the 20th Century. DeCADEnces explores both the frightening injustices and the triumphant advances of our human history; from Coney Island sideshows, Minstrelsy & Blackface, Old Time Radio to “Monicagate”, DeCADEnce leaves no stone unturned.  The rotating 16 member ensemble portrays these stories through an array of performance and media styles, inspired by TV Sitcoms, Musicals, Radio Plays, Civil Rights Protests, Live Music, Vaudeville, Carnival & Circus styles and more.
For its hotly anticipated revival of Arthur Miller's “The Crucible” Rising Sun has enlisted director Melissa Attebery to lead their stellar ensemble in a powerful and timeless depiction of how intolerance and hysteria can traverse and tear a community apart.
Hell Cab is a day in the life story of a cab driver in for the longest night of his life as he transports a bizarre and mysterious collection of customers through the gritty streets of Chicago.
