From Rock n’ 'Roll Monster to Ich Bin Nicht Ein Roboter (I Am A Lion) to the chilling The 4:15 To Spandau Will Not Run Today, the Best Band In The World are in rare form and they want to push their rock in you. What are you waiting for? Rock Bang!
Die Roten Punkte (The Red Dots) became an instant household name in Europe after topping the charts in Germany and Poland with their 2005 hits I’m In A Band and Best Band In The World.
Fuelling the band’s intrigue were Astrid’s off-stage antics. Most famously coming to blows with Courtney Love in a New York club and later that night being arrested for DUI. Despite Astrid’s stay in rehab at the beginning of 2008, Die Roten Punkte had a stunningly successful North American tour. The Gazette Montreal describes them as a “sonic collision between Plastic Bertrand, Kraftwerk and early Ramones” and they have quickly gained widespread acclaim for being a “must-see act”.
Otto’s reputation as the newest Prince of Punk continues to thrive. Recent comparisons in the European Press have been made to Iggy Pop and Kurt Cobain but with a Straightedge twist. His stage presence and live energy has been described as “all five of The Hives trapped in a lipstick-smeared Pete Townsend”.
And now they are bringing their unique brand of rock ‘n’ roll to NYC with a one weekend run at UNDER St. marks The rest of the world has already experienced Die Roten Punkte - now you can too.
After being orphaned at a young age, the pair have clawed their way to European fame in true punk rock style. Squats in Kreutzberg, homeless in Amsterdam and baptism by fire in the underground rock scene of Berlin.
