In 2008, Dysfunctional Theatre Company asked, ‘When the Apocalypse comes, will there be beer?’   There was. Unfortunately there wasn't enough. Continuing to lovingly rip off Dawn of the Dead, The Evil Dead and Shaun of the Dead, Brew of the Dead 2: Oktoberflesh asks an even more important question, ‘Can the dead get high?’

The production will feature Nicole Lee Aiossa, Rob Brown*, Eric Chase*, Tom O’Connor, Amy Overman, and Amy Beth Sherman* with Special Effects/Gore by Stephanie Cox-Williams (named “New York’s Queen of Gore” by New York Press). *Appears courtesy of Actors’ Equity Association.

Nicole Lee Aiossa (Julie) has been singing, dancing, acting and directing in New York City for the last 15 years, but has been lucky enough to be involved in the last three Dysfunctional Productions, A Voluminous Evening of Brevity, Brew of the Dead II: Oktoberflesh (reading), and A Cavalcade of Curiosities. She is primarily an opera singer, having performed in such productions as La Boheme (Musetta), Falstaff (Alice) Il Segretto di Susanna (Susanna), Dido & Aeneas (1st Witch), The Impresario (Goldentrill), Carmen (Frasquita), Orpheus in the Underworld (Eurydice), Two Widows (Lidka), Don Pasquale (Norina), La Traviata (Violetta)and numerous others. Directing, Choreography and Assistant Directing credits include: Amahl and the Night Visitors (Assistant Director & principal dancer), The Magic Flute (Assistant Director & Movement coach), Die Drei Pintos (Assistant Director and Choreographer), Two Widows (Choreographer), L'italiana in Algeri (Associate Director & Choreographer), Dido & Aeneas (Associate Director & Choreographer), The Impresario (Associate Director, Choreographer & Librettist), La Clemenza di Tito (Director), and The Medium (Director).Nicole teaches theater, movement and singing around the area, for various children's organizations and gives private coachings in Movement and Dramatic Skills for professional NY singers.  Nicole has been favorably reviewed in such publications as The New York Times, Opera News Magazine, and said of her performance in Don Pasquale, "It is highlighted by the brilliant, wise-cracking, scheming-but-with-a-good-h​eart Ms. Nicole Lee Aiossa. Rob Brown* (Pete/Schuyler) is pleased to be working on this project for Dysfunctional Theatre.  And seeing that he is a company/board member, he better be... Anywho, you may recall recently seeing him play a drunken, yet lovable F. Scott Fitzgerald (typecasting) in both A Cavalcade of Curiosities and A Voluminous Evening of Brevity, both presented by Dysfunctional Theatre.  Hugs and kisses to his family and friends, and especially to Nicole, for their support.
Eric Chase* (Arnold) is thrilled to back on stage with Dysfunctional. He was last seen with Dysfunctional in the original incarnation of Brew of the Dead. He works regularly with Emerging Artists Theatre, and Bakerloo Theatre Project. Favorite roles: MacBeth/Macbeth, Puck/Midsummer, Gaev/Cherry Orchard, Ferdy/Real Danger, Brutus/Julius Caesar, Lord Capulet, Friar Laurence/Romeo and Juliet; Film: Shelter and the Storm, Dot: The Movie, They Wait, Close the Gap; Television: Barely Legal (Pilot), One Life to Live.
Tom O'Connor (Lazlo) was born in Brooklyn, and comes from a long line of people who never figured out how to leave.  Recently, he has appeared in Brew of the Dead, Mastiphicus Megolodon, Night Sky, by SusanYankowitz, The Lesson, by Eugene Ionesco, Red Noses by Peter Barnes, and Purgatory, by W. B. Yeats.  He also performed his original monologues as an opening act for Brother Theodore for 15 years.
Amy Overman (Claire/Producer) is the Artistic Director of the Dysfunctional Theatre Company has been performing, producing and directing with them since 2001. She has appeared in: A Voluminous Evening of Brevity, The Dysfunctional Guide…, Brew of the Dead, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, Bite, Please Please Please Love Me, Whispers in the Wood, Real Live Sex on Stage, I Am Star Trek and How to Have the Ultimate…. Other NYC acting credits include: Blood on the Cat's Neck, Spacemen from Space! and Funnybook/Tragicbook with GeminiCollisionworks at the Brick, Clue - Live on Stage for Flying Blind Productions, appearances with W-WOW Radio, and the children's show On the Road to Reading. Writing credits include Dulcitius, adapted and directed for A Cavalcade of Curiosities, co-writing The Dysfunctional Guide, and a performance piece on knitting and S&M which she created and performed for Camp SummerCamp at PS 122.  Directing credits include Dulcitius, Trifles (for A Voluminous Evening of Brevity) and Five Things as part of The Comic Book Theater Festival at the Brick.  Amy has a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University. 
Amy Beth Sherman* (Paulette) is thrilled to be fighting the good zombie fight alongside these fine folks (again).  She can currently be seen as Laurie in Dysfunctional’s ongoing series, Unlicensed.  She is a proud Dysfunctional Theatre company member who has also appeared in Dulcitius, Fancy Eating You Here, Two Slatterns and a King, The Dysfunctional Guide…, Brew of the Dead (Nexus), Chosen, Vampire Stewardesses From Hell, and Sodom.  Assorted non-company productions include Three Sisters, The Seagull, Romeo & Juliet and the independent film Desperation, for which she won Best Actress at Microcinemafest 2006 and Best Acting Performance at Shriekfest 2006.  She has a BA in theatre from American University and has been kicking about New York for the past decade or so…Much love and thanks to the inner circle (you know who you are) for the continued love and support.  Seriously, thank you.

PATRICK STORCK (Playwright) is a writer and filmmaker from Baltimore, MD. He has written the feature film Corpus Kristi, co-written on The Chainsaw Sally Show, and has been a featured columnist for Scars Magazine, Matchflick.com, and Kevin Smith's ASiteCalledFred.com. Branching away from horror, he has also written Muppets Sherlock Holmes, as well as co-authored Muppets King Arthur, Muppets Snow White, Uncle Scrooge Adventures, and Donald Duck Adventures. He is excited to be working on this follow up to his first produced theatrical effort, Brew of the Dead.

JUSTIN PLOWMAN (Director) was the director of the original hit horror comedy Brew of the Dead.  Other directing credits include Robosaurus and Fancy Eating You Here for A Cavalcade of Curiosities and Porcelain & Pink for A Voluminous Evening of Brevity.  As an actor, he recently appeared in GeminiCollisionworks's ObJects and DMTheatric's Plan 9 from Outer Space, both at The Brick, has appeared in numerous Dysfunctional shows over the last decade and also appeared in and co-produced Clue - Live on Stage (Wadsworth the Butler). Justin is Dysfunctional Theatre’s Director of Development.

DYSFUNCTIONAL THEATRE COMPANY is a collective dedicated to producing ensemble works that challenge the status quo without taking themselves too seriously. Its mission is to show audiences the joys of live theater, to give exposure to new playwrights and rediscover forgotten scripts of previous centuries and to provide a supportive environment for artists to grow and expand their work.
