“Radio Star”, written and performed by Tanya O’Debra with original music by Andrew Mauriello, is a 1940’s radio detective spoof. Miss O’Debra plays ten different characters while her soundman stages live sound effects. Watch (but mainly listen) as Nick McKittrick: Private Dick hilariously solves a murder in “The Case of the Long-Distance Lover”.

“Radio Star” marks Tanya O’Debra’s re-emergence into the theatre after her 8 year collaboration as one half of The O'Debra Twins. She is armed and dangerous with the bawdy sense of humor you’ve come to love and expect from her. Watch (but mainly listen) as Nick McKittrick: Private Dick hilariously solves a murder in “The Case of the Long-Distance Lover”. “Radio Star” mixes convincing 1940’s dialogue with a current comedic sensibility. Fresh off a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, "Radio Star" finds a loving home at the Horse Trade Company's Red Room.
Tanya O'Debra (Writer & Performer) Formerly of the comic sister duo, The O'Debra Twins, Miss O’Debra makes a joyful return to the theatre. As a twin and otherwise, she’s performed at venues such as Joe’s Pub, The Cutting Room, La Mama Etc, CSV, PS 122, Luna Lounge, and Mo Pitkin’s House of Satisfaction. She was the co-host of the hit open mic SHOW & TELL at The Bowery Poetry Club for five years. Before The O'Debra Twins, Miss O'Debra was a co-writer and co-director of Fuck You or Dead Pee-Holes; an American Tale in Thirteen Acts, which won The Excellence Award in Overall Production at Fringe NYC. Her play, Dummy, was produced by the Impact Theatre as part of their Winter One Act Festival. Radio Star made its debut at Glasslands Gallery before shipping off to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Miss O’Debra is currently pregnant with twin unicorns.
Andrew Mauriello (Composer) A composer with over 15 years of experience including his studies at Berklee College of Music, Mr. Mauriello has been incorporating his songwriting into a variety of settings with a vast spectrum of musical styles. He has performed at Boston's Symphony Hall, crowded basements in Philadelphia, sold out shows at the late CBGB's in New York City, and seemingly everywhere in between.
