Dana Rossi

Dana Rossi is the creator and host of The Soundtrack Series. She is a contributor to the anthology Madonna and Me: Women Writers on the Queen of Pop, and her writing has appeared in New York Press, Slice, Time Out New York, Broken Pencil, The Retroist, and InDigest. She is the recipient of a 2008 New York Press Association Award for a feature on understudies to celebrities on Broadway. As a storyteller, she has performed with RISK!, The Liar Show, TOLD, Ask Me, Story Collider, How I Learned, Real Characters, NY Confidential, and BTK Band, to name a few. In her lifetime, she has been the proud owner of three turntables, five Walkmans, four Discmans, three iPods, two boom boxes, countless radios, and one jukebox. She is a music nerd—proudly well versed in everything that makes music vastly uncool—from the work of cheesy 80s one hit wonders or early 90s supergroups, to the soft sounds of the late 70s, the b-sides to Carpenters 45s, and the words to Kenny Rogers songs other than “The Gambler”. It ain’t glamour knowledge, but sometimes it’s just fun to know about Michael Nesmith’s solo work.
